Dear all,
As we closely approach Christmas and the New Year, Pink Ribbon Monaco would like to thank everyone who made our 2nd year of existence such a success.
This year, for the second time, we created a buzz by lighting Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo and the Casino of Monte-Carlo in pink, raising awareness to breast cancer screening methods. M. Valeri, Government Minister for Social Affairs and Health in Monacohonoured us by announcing the approval and creation of the new Breast Cancer Screening Centre at the Centre Hospitalier Princess Grace, opening in 2013.
Earlier in the year, in March, we hosted our 1st Pink Ribbon Monaco Walk. Close to 300 participants showed up, despite the rainy spring weather. Dressed in pink, some wore fantastic costumes, feather boas and even pink fairy wings, some more soberly but still in pink. Everyone had in common great enthusiasm and deep emotion, as lost loved ones lives were honoured and those who fought and won the battle were celebrated.
It was a moving and lively celebration, were we were all as one, walking for a cause that concerns both men and women, and thanks to you all, it was a resounding success.
So much so, that we have been invited back this coming March for an even bigger and better Walk, were the ASM (Association Sportive Monégasque) has anticipated 500 participants! With a new circuit, new surprises and even more satellite events, together we will raise awareness and funds for our battle with breast cancer. And guess what… We will win!
Julia and I would like to wish you all the very Merriest Christmas and a Happy New Year. Celebrate your loved ones, and enjoy these precious moments together….
And then, get ready for March! It will be PINK-TASTIC!

The mission
The Pink Ribbon Monaco Charity program was founded to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Over the past years, life-saving treatments against breast cancer have advanced bringing hope and courage to all victims. But so much remains to be done to support victims and assist researchers and hospitals in their work for prevention and finding a faster cure and better treatments. The money donated to Pink Ribbon Monaco will go straight towards research, direct help for patients and education in areas requiring assistance in screening, development and finding a cure for breast cancer.
Pink Ribbon Monaco is working closely with medical professionals to provide assistance and support when and where it is needed. With the backing and guidance by the doctors of the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace, we are targeting the areas in need of assistance and funding. A further goal is to provide information on local screening facilities and support to women who have been affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer can be beaten, and Pink Ribbon aims to assist with all the necessary tools.
Pink Ribbon will be organizing events and fundraisers to collect funds that will be distributed to screening centers, research facilities and support groups, while raising awareness and educating about the disease. Find out what is going on in our 'News and Events section'!
